there is a curse

in Oregon, specifically Northwestern Oregon, that make it rain for all summer holidays.

It’s raining today.  Today is not a holiday, but it’s getting dangerously close to a holiday.  One in which I would like to lay on the hammock in the sun.  I’d like to bbq with friends and family and be able to eat outside so that I can be messy.  One in which I’d like to swim in a lake.  I’d like to need to wear sunscreen and bug repellant.

a couple of things of note:

1. it rains here too much!

2. 90!!!????

3. clatskanie is the closest location to the cabin to have a forecast.  It’s still a bit of a ways away though, and there are mountains in between, so it’s really not the most accurate forecast for the cabin.

4. the forecast has been accurate here about 1% of the time this year.

So, Sunday is the big day and it looks pretty good.  It’s not going to be a scorcher, but it looks like it’ll be pretty nice.  I don’t really trust it though and I’m going to be so annoyed if it’s rainy all weekend.

We will have fun no matter what, but something weird happens to a person when it rains all the time, even when the forecast has promised the sun.  It messes with your head.  And it’s just not fair.

I’m going to go bake some muffins to share with the crowd at the cabin now.  If they turn out pretty, I’ll show them to you.  If they are a mess, we shall never speak of them again.
