creation vacation

I had hoped to have time to get a new post up about something super interesting for you all, but today has been tooooo busy!  Dang.  So instead, you get this quickie.  I hope you have a great rest of your week!

I am just about ready to meet up with my carpool to the Creation Vacation Western Washington County.  We’ll be at Camp Magruder for the next three days.  I am so looking forward to it.  Not only do I get to be a “family friend” to a family from the area that might not get to have a vacation this summer otherwise, but I get to go to camp!  And the weather is sweltering in Portland, so escaping to the coast could not be better timed.  I think it might even be 90 over there too.  I’ve got the beach blanket packed and the sunscreen slathered on.  I am ready!

I am so happy to be able to help out with this program.  It’s just so cool.  It’s through church, but the only motive we have is to give this chance to go to camp.  We are not looking for converts, or preaching to these families all weekend, or asking for anything at all from them.  It’s just such a great way to give something to the community.  Programs like this make me extra proud to be Christian.
